Maple Walnut Fudge recipe

An avid cook and visitor to CooksRecipes.com,Sandy Donovan, suggests substituting the white chocolate chipswith butterscotch-flavored chips and 2 tablespoons real maplesyrup for the extract. She and her daughter were so thrilledwith the results, they made several batches to give away as giftsduring the 2001 holiday season.

Recipe: Maple Walnut Fudge

2 tablespoons butter
2/3 cup evaporated milk
1 1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 cups miniature marshmallows
2 cups (12-ounces) white chocolate chips
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1 1/2 teaspoons maple extract
1/2 chopped walnuts

  • Butter a 9-inch square baking pan; setaside.
  • Combine butter, evaporated milk, sugarand salt in a heavy saucepan. Bring to a full rolling boil, stirringconstantly, over medium heat. Boil, stirring constantly for 41/2 to 5 minutes.
  • Remove from heat. Stir in marshmallows,chips, nuts and maple flavoring, stirring until marshmallowsand chips are melted.
  • Pour into prepared baking pan. Cool untilfirm and cut into squares.

    Makes about 2 pounds fudge.

    I toasted my walnuts in a skillet before adding it to the fudge and I used silicone cupcake liners sprayed with a bit of non-stick cooking spray to make individual servings of the fudge. NutritionPopup ?
