Malted Ice Cream Torte recipe

Sure to become a favorite dessert for itsease in preparation and its make-ahead benefit…not to mentionits great taste!

Recipe: Malted Ice CreamTorte

1 1/2 cups vanilla cookie crumbs
1/2 cup ground pecans
1/2 cup malted milk powder
1/2 cup chilled butter, cut into chunks
1/2 gallon vanilla ice cream
1/2 cup malted milk powder
1 1/2 cups malted milk ball candy, coarsely chopped

  • In a large bowl, combine crumbs, pecansand malted milk powder. Mix in butter. Press onto bottom and1 1/2 inches up sides of 9 inch springform pan.
  • Bake at 325°F (160°C) for 20 minutesor until golden brown. Cool.
  • Place ice cream in refrigerator for 30minutes, or until soft enough to stir. Add malted milk powder;stir until well-combined. Spread over crust.
  • Sprinkle with candy, pressing candy lightlyinto ice cream.
  • Freeze at least 4 hours.

    Makes 12 servings.

    While I didn t make the actual ice cream, I used the recipe to make the cake it recommended, and I made it twice to have two different cake layers. The cake worked very well for the ice cream cake I made. It wasn t too sweet or soft, just the right size and texture for an ice cream cake!
