M&M Cookies recipe

Like a chocolate chip cookie…only withcolorful candy-coated chocolates instead of the chips.

Recipe: M&M Cookies

2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour1/2 teaspoon baking soda1 teaspoon salt1 cup vegetable shortening1 cup firmly packed light brown sugar1/2 cup granulated sugar2 large eggs2 teaspoon vanilla extract1 1/2 cups M&M plain or peanut candies

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In medium bowl combine flour, soda andsalt, mixing well; set aside.
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream shorteningand sugars together with electric mixer; add eggs and vanillaand beat at medium speed until light and fluffy. Stir in flourmixture and candies until just combined. Do not over-mix.
  • Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls onto ungreasedbaking sheets, about 2-inches apart.
  • Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until edgesjust begin to turn golden brown. Do not over-bake! Transfer cookiesto a wire rack to cool.

    Makes about 3 dozen cookies.
