Recipe: Love Truffles
6 tablespoons butter, softened 1 large egg yolk 1 cup (6-ounces) NESTL TOLL HOUSE Semi-Sweet ChocolateMorsels 2/3 cup powdered sugar 1/4 cup chopped walnuts 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1/2 cup NESTL ® TOLL HOUSE® Baking Cocoa
In a bowl, with an electric mixer at mediumspeed, cream butter and egg yolk; set aside.
Gently melt chocolate chips in a doubleboiler over low heat; stirring occasionally. Add a little bitof melted chocolate to egg yolk mixture, stir well. Transferthis mixture back into double boiler. Using a thermometer, cookuntil mixture reaches 160°F (70°C); stirring constantly.Remove from heat and transfer to a clean bowl; thoroughly mixin sugar. Add nuts and vanilla and stir until well-blended. Refrigerateuntil firm enough to hold a shape, about 2 hours.
Shape into small 1 1/2 x 1/2-inch hearts.Press top side of hearts into cocoa. Refrigerate until readyto serve.
Makes 12 truffles.
