Lemon Poppy Seed Bread recipe

A sweet, lemony yeast bread with poppyseeds and toasted almonds. – A recipe is for bread machines.

Recipe: Lemon Poppy SeedBread

3/4 cup water3/4 cup lemon yogurt2 tablespoons honey1 1/2 tablespoons butter1 tablespoon lemon peel2 teaspoons lemon extract
3 cups white bread flour
1 1/2 tablespoons dry milk
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup sliced almonds, toasted*
3 tablespoons poppy seeds
2 teaspoons active dry yeast

  • Place ingredients in the bread machinepan in the order suggested by the manufacturer.
  • Select Basic bread cycle and start machine.

    Makes one (1 1/2 pound) loaf.

    *To toast nuts, place in a shallow bakingpan. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 15 to 20 minutes or untiloats are lightly browned, stirring occasionally. Cool.

    This looks delicious! Had a special request for lemon poppy seed yours looks the best by far! Will be making it tomorrow. What size of pan should be used for this? If it s the bigger one how long in oven for two smaller loaves? I was thinking of making this tonight so I can have it with my tea in the morning but I don t have greek yogurt, do you know if you have to use the greek yogurt for the recipe?
