3/4 cup brown sugar, packed1 large egg1 cup honey1 tablespoon grated lemon peel1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour1 teaspoon ground cinnamon1 teaspoon ground nutmeg1 teaspoon ground cloves1/2 teaspoon baking soda1/2 teaspoon salt1 cup golden raisins1/2 cup mixed candied fruits1/2 cup citron1 cup chopped walnutsLemon Glaze(recipe follows)Candied cherries and citron for garnish
Makes about 4 dozen bars.
Lemon Glaze:In a small bowl, combine 1 cup powdered sugar with enough lemonjuice (1 1/2 to 2 tablespoons) to make a thin glaze.
