Kiwifruit-Mango Salsa recipe

This colorful fat-free salsa, developedby Chef Patricia Hart, M.S., R.D. and Sharon Salomon, M.S., R.D.,brightens up any meal as an appetizer or an accompaniment tofish or chicken.

Recipe: Kiwifruit-Mango Salsa

3 medium kiwifruit
3/4 cup mango, chopped
1 tablespoon minced green chiles, (fresh or canned)
2 tablespoons lime juice
1 1/2 teaspoons honey
3 tablespoons chopped cilantro
pinch salt

  • Peel kiwifruit and cut into lengthwisequarters, then slice. Place sliced kiwifruit into bowl with otheringredients. Mix gently.
  • Serve with tortilla chips, if desired.

    Makes 6 servings.

    If you do one thing this week, make this salsa! It is totally worth spending the $800 on one mango and $1,250 on one avocado. At least that is about what they cost in my neck o the woods at the moment.  Each kiwi tasted better than the next juicy, fresh and sweet. Is it kiwi season? Is there such a thing?


    Here I am brainstorming ideas for how to use my kiwis, google kiwi mango salsa and well yeah. I hope you have a good, busy?
