Hot German Noodle Salad recipe

A different twist! Instead of potatoesthis recipe uses noodles. Now, that’s using the ol’ noodle!

Recipe: Hot German NoodleSalad

2 cups wide egg noodles3 bacon slices1/4 cup chopped onion1 tablespoon granulated sugar1 tablespoon all-purpose flour1/4 teaspoon salt1/8 teaspoon ground mustard1/2 cup water1/4 cup cider vinegar1 cup sliced celery2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

  • Cook noodles according to package directions.Drain and set aside.
  • In a large skillet, cook the bacon untilcrisp. Drain on paper towel, crumble and set aside.
  • Reserve 1 tablespoon drippings in theskillet, saute onion until softened. Stir in sugar, flour, saltand mustard; add water and vinegar. Cook and stir until thickenedand bubbly, about 2 to 3 minutes.
  • Add cooked noodles to skillet; stir incelery and parsley; heat through. Transfer to a serving bowland sprinkle with crumbled bacon.

    Serves 4.
