Hot Crab Dip recipe

Baked inside a hollowed-out round loafof bread, this is a delicious and eye-appealing dip.

Recipe: Hot Crab Dip

2 (8-ounce each) packages soft cream cheese,softened1/4 cup milk1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce1 tablespoon dried parsley leaves1 teaspoon salt1 teaspoon horseradish1 teaspoon dry mustard1/2 teaspoon garlic powder1/4 teaspoon ground pepper1/4 cup chopped green onions2 (6-ounce each) cans of crab meat, drained1/2 cup slivered almonds1 loaf of round bread, any flavor1 cup shredded cheddar cheesePaprika for sprinkling

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).Grease a 12 x 8-inch square baking dish; set side.
  • Combine the cream cheese and milk; addWorcestershire sauce, parsley, salt, horseradish,mustard, garlic powder and pepper mixing well. Stir in the crabmeat, green onions and almonds. Spreadmixture into prepared baking dish and bake for 30minutes.
  • Cut a circle out of the top of the breadand scoop out the inside. Discard the insides orsave for another use.
  • Remove crab mixture from oven and spooninto hollowed bread. Sprinkle with shreddedcheese and paprika. Place the bread bowl on a baking sheet andbake, uncovered, until the cheese ismelted.
  • Serve hot with an assortment of crackers.

    Makes 10 to 12 servings.

    Note: If desired, bake the top of breadalong side the bowl and then lean it on the bread bowl forpresentation.
