Honey Granola Brittle recipe

Honey Granola Brittle.

A great source of fiber and vitamins, granolaadds extra goodness and crunch to this honey-flavored brittle.

Recipe: Honey Granola Brittle

1 cup granulated sugar
1/3 cup honey
1 tablespoon butter
2 cups granola

  • Line a large baking sheet with parchmentpaper and grease the paper. In a small, heavy saucepan, combinethe sugar and honey over medium-high heat. Stir the mixture untiljust melted; bring to a boil. Insert a candy thermometer andcook until the mixture is caramel colored and the temperatureregisters 300°F (150°C).
  • Remove the saucepan from the heat andstir in the butter until melted. Stir in the granola and pourthe mixture on the prepared baking sheet, spreading into a 1/4-inch-thickrectangle. Let cool for 20 minutes.
  • Cut the brittle into 1/2-by-2-inch pieces.Let cool completely. Wrap each piece in a 3-by-4-inch piece oncellophane.

    Makes 24 candies.

    Prep Time: 25 minutes (plus cooling)
    Cook Time: 10 minutes
