Honey-Carob Brownies recipe

Recipe: Honey-Carob Brownies

1/2 cup butter, melted
1/2 cup carob powder
1 cup honey
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup whole wheat flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup walnuts, chopped

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C)
  • Blend together melted butter, carob powder,and honey in a bowl. Add eggs and vanilla; mix well.
  • Add a sifted mixture of whole wheat flour,baking powder, and salt; mix well. Stir in chopped walnuts. Pourinto a greased 8-inch baking dish.
  • Bake for 40 minutes. Cool on a wire rackbefore cutting into squares.

    Makes 16 bars.
