Ham Steaks with Maple-Bourbon Glaze recipe

These ham steaks dressed up with a flavorfulglaze on the grill make a quick and hearty weeknight meal, butare special enough for company. Serve with mashed sweet potatoes,green beans in a mustard vinaigrette dressing, and cornbread.

Recipe: Ham Steaks with Maple-BourbonGlaze

2 fully cooked bone-in ham steaks, about1/2-inch thick
3 tablespoons maple-flavored syrup
2 tablespoons bourbon
1 tablespoon soy sauce
2 crushed garlic cloves
1 teaspoon Dijon-style mustard

  • Prepare medium-hot fire in grill.
  • In small bowl stir together syrup, bourbon,soy sauce, garlic and mustard.
  • Grill ham directly over fire for 5 to8 minutes, turning and brushing with glaze during last coupleminutes of cooking. Remove ham from grill and brush with anyremaining glaze.

    Makes 16 servings.

    * Note: For gas grills, preheat and thenturn off any burners directly below where the food will go. Theheat circulates inside the grill, so turning the food is notnecessary.
