Gramma’s Chocolate Holiday Butter Cookies recipe

Old-fashioned buttery pecan tea cakes,laced with grated sweet chocolate…some things just never goout of style.

Recipe: Gramma’s ChocolateHoliday Butter Cookies

1 cup butter, softened
1 1/4 cups powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
Dash salt
6 ounces sweet chocolate, grated
1 cup chopped pecans

  • Beat butter and sugar until light andfluffy. Blend in vanilla. Add dry ingredients; mix well. Stirin chocolate and nuts. Chill dough several hours.
  • Shape dough into 1-inch balls. Place onungreased cookie sheet.
  • Bake at 250°F (120°C) for 35 to40 minutes or until firm.

    Makes 4 dozen cookies.
