Glowing Goblin Cut-Outs recipe

These cookies are a Halloween favorite.Other holiday-themed cookie cutters can be used, as well.

Recipe: Glowing Goblin Cut-Outs

Cookie Ingredients:4 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups granulated sugar
1 cup butter or margarine , softened
1/2 cup sour cream
2 large eggs
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extractDecoration Ingredients:Decorator gel, if desired
Decorator sugars, if desired

  • Combine 2 cups flour and all remainingcookie ingredients in large bowl. Beat at low speed, scrapingbowl often, until well mixed. Stir in remaining flour by hand.
  • Divide dough into 4 equal portions. Wrapeach in plastic food wrap. Refrigerate until firm (at least 2hours).
  • Heat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Roll out dough on well-floured surface,one portion at a time (keeping remaining dough refrigerated),to 1/8-inch thickness. Cut into desired shapes with 2 1/2-inchcookie cutters.
  • Place 1 inch apart onto greased cookiesheets. Decorate with decorator gel and sugars, if desired. Bakefor 7 to 10 minutes or until edges are lightly browned. Coolcompletely.

    Makes 6 dozen cookies.
