Gingered Blueberry Sauce recipe

Spoon this gingered blueberry sauce overdesserts such as ice cream, bread puddings or cakes…or as anaccompaniment with grilled chicken, pork or seafood.

Recipe: Gingered BlueberrySauce

1 cup apple juice
1 cup granulated sugar
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 teaspoon ground ginger
1 cinnamon stick
2 (12-ounce) packages frozen blueberries

  • In a saucepan combine apple juice, sugar,cornstarch, and ginger. Heat and stir until the sugar dissolves.Add 1 cinnamon stick and bring to a boil. Add frozen blueberries.Reduce the heat to medium and cook for 12 to 15 minutes, or justuntil the mixture returns to a boil and thickens, stirring occasionally.Remove the cinnamon stick before serving.

    Makes about 4 1/2 cups.
