Giant Valentine Cookie recipe

This chewy chocolate chip cookie, toppedwith smooth, rich chocolate, makes a decadent treat that saysHappy Valentine’s Day in a giant way.

Recipe: Giant Valentine Cookie

1 cup plus 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup butter or margarine
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 large egg
1 3/4 cups NESTL TOLL HOUSE Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels- divided use
Decorator icing (in tubes, optional

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).Grease and wax paper-line 8 1/2 or 9-inch heart-shaped pan.
  • Combine flour, baking soda and salt insmall bowl. Beat butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar and vanillaextract in large mixer bowl until creamy. Beat in egg. Graduallybeat in flour mixture. Stir in 1 cup morsels; spread into preparedpan.
  • Bake for 20 to 30 minutes or until goldenbrown. Let cool in pan for 10 minutes; remove to wire rack tocool completely.
  • Microwave remaining morsels in small,microwave-safe bowl on MEDIUM-HIGH (70%) power for 1 minute;stir. Microwave at additional 10- to 20-second intervals, stirringuntil smooth; spread over cookie. Decorate with icing.

    Makes 1 large cookie.

    Baking Sheet Cookie Variation: Preheatoven to 375°F (190°C). Pat dough into 8-inch circle onungreased baking sheet with floured hands. Bake for 15 to 20minutes until golden brown. Cool completely on baking sheet onwire rack.
