Fudge Crackles recipe

This cookie is crackly on the outside andmoist and fudgy on the inside.

Recipe: Fudge Crackles

3/4 cup all-purpose flour1/2 teaspoon baking powder1/4 teaspoon salt2 cups semisweet chocolate chips – divideduse3 (1-ounce) squares unsweetened chocolate,chopped3 tablespoons butter1 cup granulated sugar3 large eggs1/2 cup chopped walnuts

  • Heat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In medium bowl, mix together the flour,baking powder and salt; set aside.
  • Melt 1 cup chocolate chips and the unsweetenedchocolate with butter in the microwavefor about one minute, stirring after 30 seconds. Set aside andallow to cool slightly.
  • With an electric mixer, beat togethersugar and eggs until thick and creamy. Mix invanilla and melted chocolate. Stir in flour mixture until justmixed. Add 1 cup chocolate chips andwalnuts.
  • Drop by tablespoonfuls about 2-inchesapart on ungreased baking sheets. Bake for 8 minutes or untiltops are cracked and shiny. Cool on cookie sheet 3 to5 minutes. Transfer to wire racks to coolcompletely. Store in sealed container.

    Makes 3 dozen.
