This cookie is crackly on the outside andmoist and fudgy on the inside.
Recipe: Fudge Crackles
3/4 cup all-purpose flour1/2 teaspoon baking powder1/4 teaspoon salt2 cups semisweet chocolate chips – divideduse3 (1-ounce) squares unsweetened chocolate,chopped3 tablespoons butter1 cup granulated sugar3 large eggs1/2 cup chopped walnuts
Heat oven to 350°F (175°C).
In medium bowl, mix together the flour,baking powder and salt; set aside.
Melt 1 cup chocolate chips and the unsweetenedchocolate with butter in the microwavefor about one minute, stirring after 30 seconds. Set aside andallow to cool slightly.
With an electric mixer, beat togethersugar and eggs until thick and creamy. Mix invanilla and melted chocolate. Stir in flour mixture until justmixed. Add 1 cup chocolate chips andwalnuts.
Drop by tablespoonfuls about 2-inchesapart on ungreased baking sheets. Bake for 8 minutes or untiltops are cracked and shiny. Cool on cookie sheet 3 to5 minutes. Transfer to wire racks to coolcompletely. Store in sealed container.
Makes 3 dozen.
