Fruit and Nut Snack Bars recipe

Fruit snack bars made with mincement, nutsand chocolate.

Recipe: Fruit and Nut SnackBars

1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened1 1/4 cups granulated sugar3 large eggs1 1/3 cups commercially prepared mincemeat1/2 cup chopped pecans1 (1-ounce) squares baking chocolate,melted1/4 teaspoon salt1 1/2 cups all-purpose flourPowdered sugarPecan halves (optional)

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).Grease a 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan; set aside.
  • In large mixing bowl, beat butter andsugar until fluffy. Add eggs; beat well.
  • Stir in mincemeat, chopped pecans, meltedchocolate and salt; mix well. Stir in flour. Spread evenly intoprepared baking pan.
  • Bake for 30 minutes or until wooden pickinserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pan on wire rack.
  • Sprinkle with powdered sugar. Cut intobars. Garnish with pecan halves, if desired.

    Makes 24 to 36 bars.
