Fresh Fruit Crisp recipe

An excellent basic fruit crisp recipe,you choose the type of fruit to use.

Recipe: Fresh Fruit Crisp

6 cups peeled, cored and thinly sliced apples, peaches or pears(about 6 to 8 medium)
1/4 cup apple or orange juice or water
1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 cup quick or old fashioned oats
1/2 cup coarsely chopped nuts
1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/4 cup butter, melted
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for accompaniment (optional)

  • Heat oven to 350°F (175°C). Greaseor spray an 8-inch square glass baking dish with cooking spray;set aside.
  • For Filling: Combine fruit and juice orwater in large bowl. Add sugar, flour and cinnamon; stir untilfruit is evenly coated. Spoon into baking dish.
  • For Topping: Combine all ingredients inmedium bowl and mix well. Sprinkle evenly over fruit.
  • Bake for 30 to 35 minutes or until fruitis tender.
  • Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream,if desired.

    Makes 9 servings.
