This is an ideal dessert during fall.

Recipe: French Apple ChutneyTart

Pastry for single crust pie
5 cups (5 medium) tart green apples, peeled, cored and thinlysliced
1 (8.5-ounce) jar CROSSE & BLACKWELL® Apple Curry Chutney
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 cup butter or margarine, chilled
Vanilla ice cream

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Line 9-inch tart pan with removable bottomwith pastry; trim away excess pastry. Arrange apples in pastryshell; spoon chutney over apples.
  • Combine flour, sugar and cinnamon in mediumbowl. Cut in butter with pastry blender or two knives until mixtureresembles coarse crumbs. Sprinkle mixture over filling.
  • Bake for 40 to 45 minutes or until applesare tender when pierced with a sharp knife. Remove rim of pan.Serve warm with ice cream.
