Golden, caramelized peanut brittle is aspecial treat and makes a great gift.
Recipe: Farm Bureau PeanutBrittle
2 cups granulated sugar
Boil sugar, corn syrup and water untilsyrup forms a thin thread when dropped into cold water. Stirin chopped peanuts and cook until light amber (a darker colormeans the peanuts have overcooked). Remove from heat and stirin butter. When butter is completely melted, add baking soda,stirring quickly.
While still hot, pour into a lightly greasedbaking sheet; do not touch after pouring into the pan.
Cool completely; break candy into servingsizes.
1 cup light corn syrup
1/2 cup water
2 cups chopped peanuts
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons baking soda
Makes 12 servings.
