Recipe: Family Favorite MeatLoaf
Meat Loaf:2 pounds lean ground beef1 small onion, finely chopped1 small bell pepper, finely chopped1 celery rib, finely chopped1 large carrot, finely shredded2 garlic cloves, finely minced1 cup quick-cooking oats1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce1 teaspoon prepared horseradish1 teaspoon dry mustard1/2 teaspoon Tabasco sauce1 1/4 teaspoons kosher or sea saltFreshly ground pepper to taste1/2 cup 2% milk1 large egg1/4 cup ketchupPiquant Topping:1/2 cup ketchup2 tablespoons brown sugar, packed1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce2 teaspoons lemon juice or vinegar1/2 teaspoon prepared horseradish
Makes 10 to 12 servings.
