Egg Nog recipe

This classic holiday beverage is rich,thick, and delicious. The recipe calls for rum extract, but ifyou prefer, add the real thing to taste.

Recipe: Egg Nog

2 large eggs
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/8 teaspoon salt
2 cups milk
1 teaspoon rum extract
1/2 cup heavy cream, beaten until stiff
Freshly grated nutmeg

  • Beat eggs, sugar, and salt in top of doubleboiler or heavy pan. Add milk; mix and cook, stirring frequently,until mixture barely coats a metal spoon. Chill.
  • Stir in rum extract. Fold in stiffly beatenwhipping cream.
  • Pour immediately into glasses and adda sprinkling of nutmeg. Serve.

    Makes 2 to 3 servings. Recipe can be doubled.
