Double Yum Cookie Bars recipe

Cookie bars with a graham cracker crusttopped with sweetened condensed milk, chocolate chips, peanutbutter chips and drizzled with melted chocolate.

Recipe: Double Yum CookieBars

1/2 cup butter
1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk (not evaporated milk)
1 (12-ounce) package (2 cups) semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup peanut butter chips
1 (6-ounce) package (1 cup) semisweet chocolate chips
1 1/2 teaspoons vegetable shortening

  • Heat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Melt butter in oven in 13 x 9 x 2-inchbaking pan.
  • Sprinkle graham cracker crumbs over butter;pour sweetened condensed milk evenly over crumbs.
  • Top with 2 cups chocolate chips and peanutbutter chips; press down firmly.
  • Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until lightlybrowned. Cool completely in pan on wire rack.
  • In small microwave-safe bowl, place 1cup chocolate chips and shortening. Microwave at HIGH (100%)1 to 1 1/2 minutes or until smooth when stirred.
  • Drizzle over top of bars.

    Makes 24 bars.

    When I used an 8 8 pan to make these cookie-brownies I eyed the amount of cookie dough I was putting on the brownies by the time I finished putting on the cookie dough I had a pan that was about half brownie mix and half cookie dough. It worked out fine, so it could be that you just need to but more cookie dough in, I do not have brownie mix at the moment and the recipe to which you referenced said that it is for 2 square pans. You said to use a square pan so does that mean I should cut the brownie recipe in half?
