Double Chocolate Graham Cracker Chip Bars recipe

Cookie bars made with crushed chocolategraham crackers and chocolate chips.

Recipe: Double ChocolateGraham Cracker Chip Bars

22 chocolate graham crackers, crushed
1/2 cup all-puipose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
2 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).Grease a 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan.
  • Combine graham cracker crumbs, flour andbaking soda in a medium bowl.
  • In a large bowl, beat butter and sugarwith an electric mixer on medium speed until fluffy. Add eggs,one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in vanilla.Mix in flour mixture, in increments, on low speed until combined.Stir in chips by hand. Spread mixture into prepared pan.
  • Bake 18 to 20 minutes. Cool completelyon a wire rack before cutting into bars.

    Makes 24 bars.

    Hi Tiffany! The texture should be almost like cornmeal. A food processor makes an easy job of it, although I usually just keep a bag of store bought graham cracker crumbs on hand for pie crusts and such. Hope you like the recipe Graham cracker crumbs instead of flour who would have guessed?  Really though, it makes perfect sense.  Now you ve just discovered a whole new world for graham crackers besides smores and pie crusts.  I m sure a lot of you busy bakers are crazy excited and gonna start some experimenting.  I know I did
