Double Chocolate Brownies with Cream Cheese Frosting recipe

Turn an ordinary brownie mix into extraordinarymoist double chocolate brownies topped with luscious cream cheesefrosting.

Recipe: Double ChocolateBrownies with Cream Cheese Frosting

Double Chocolate Brownies:
1 (21-ounce) package brownie mix
3/4 cup sour cream
1/4 cup butter, melted
2 large eggs
1 (12-ounce) package mini chocolate chips or mini mint chocolatechips – divided useCream Cheese Frosting:
2 cups powdered sugar
4 ounces cream cheese, well chilled, cut into chunks
2 tablespoons butter, softened
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/8 teaspoon salt

  • In a large bowl, combine brownie mix,sour cream, melted butter and eggs; mix well. Fold in 1 1/2 cupsof the chocolate chips. Spread batter in a buttered pan.
  • Bake in a 350°F (175°C) oven 25to 28 minutes or until brownies begin to pull away from sidesof pan and center is just set (do not over bake.) Transfer panto wire cooling rack; cool completely.
  • In a food processor or mixer, combinepowdered sugar, cream cheese, butter, vanilla and salt; processor mix just until smooth. (Do not over process or frosting willbe too soft to spread.)
  • Spread frosting over cooled brownies;top with remaining 1/2 cup chocolate chips. Cut into squares.

    Makes 24 brownies.
