Dixie Cornbread recipe

White cornmeal, buttermilk cornbread…assouthern as it gets!

Recipe: Dixie Cornbread

1 1/2 cups white cornmeal
3 tablespoons all-purpse flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 cups buttermilk
1 large egg
2 tablespoons butter, melted

  • In a large mixing bowl, sift togetherwhite cornmeal, flour, salt, and baking soda. Add buttermilk,egg, and melted butter; mixing until just moistened.
  • Pour into a greased oven-safe skillet.
  • Bake at 425°F (220°C) for 20 to25 minutes.

    Makes 12 servings.
