Deep Dish Brownies recipe

Thick, cake-like cocoa brownies.

Recipe: Deep Dish Brownies

3/4 cup butter, melted
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
3 large eggs
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup unsweetened baking cocoa
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt

  • Heat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease8-inch square baking pan.
  • Combine butter, sugar and vanilla in bowl.Add eggs; beat well with spoon.
  • Combine flour, cocoa, baking powder andsalt; gradually add to egg mixture, beating until well blended.Spread batter evenly into prepared pan.
  • Bake 40 to 45 minutes or until browniesbegin to pull away from sides of pan. Cool completely in panon wire rack. Cut into bars.

    Makes about 16 brownies.
