Crunchy Monkey Chocolate Chip Cookies.

These salty and sweet cookies add a uniquespin to the favorite Nestl ® Toll House® ChocolateChip Cookie we all know and love. Filled with banana chips, choppedpeanuts and semi-sweet chocolate chunks, you can’t go wrong.

Recipe: Crunchy Monkey ChocolateChip Cookies

2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour1 teaspoon baking soda1 teaspoon salt1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened3/4 cup granulated sugar3/4 cup packed brown sugar1 teaspoon vanilla extract2 large eggs2 cups (5.5 ounce package) dried bananachips, chopped1 3/4 cups (11.5 ounce package) NESTL ®TOLL HOUSE® Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chunks3/4 cup chopped salted peanuts

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Combine flour, baking soda and salt insmall bowl. Beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and vanillaextract in large mixer bowl until creamy. Add eggs, one at atime, beating well after each addition. Gradually beat in flourmixture. Stir in banana chips, chunks and peanuts. Drop by roundedtablespoon onto ungreased baking sheets.
  • Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until goldenbrown. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes; remove to wire racksto cool completely.

    Makes 60 (5 dozen) cookies.

    Tip: Banana chipscan be chopped using a food processor or by placing in a heavy-dutyplastic food storage bag and pounding with a rolling pin.

    The banana chips give these cookies an occasional surprise of banana flavor and an interesting crunchiness, but don’t make the cookies overly banana-y.
