Recipe: Creative Pan Cookies

2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 1/4 cups granulated sugar
1 cup butter-flavored vegetable shortening
2 large eggs
2 tablespoons water
2 cups NESTL TOLL HOUSE Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels
2 1/4 cups quick oats, uncooked
1 cup chopped dried apple slices, or raisins

  • Preheat oven to 375º F (175ºC).
  • Combine flour, baking soda, salt and cinnamonin small mixer bowl. Beat sugar and shortening in large mixerbowl until creamy. Beat in eggs. Gradually add flour mixtureand water. Stir in morsels, oats and apples. Spread batter intoungreased 15 x 10-inch jelly roll pan.
  • Bake for 18 to 20 minutes or until lightlybrowned. Cool completely in pan on wire rack. Cut into bars.

    Makes 48 bars.

    start by making your gingerbread dough. i don t always make mine from scratch but when i do i like this recipe . this time i will freely admit that i bought the Pillsbury refrigerated cookie dough and it worked great. take a small amount and place it into a mini muffin pan. press your thumb into the center to create a dip in the dough. for most cookie cups you don t have to do this but i found the dough in the middle a bit gooey if you dont do this step. What is the yield? Thinking about making this recipe for a cookie exchange at my work we need to bring 3 dozen and I m wondering how much of everything to get at the store.
