Creamy Cheesy Mashed Potatoes.

Jazz up your mashed potatoes with evaporatedmilk and shredded cheddar cheese! Add green onion and crumbledbacon for an even heartier side dish.

Recipe: Creamy Cheesy MashedPotatoes

2 pounds potatoes (about 6 medium), peeled,cut into 1-inch chunks
3/4 cup NESTL ® CARNATION® Evaporated Milk
1/4 cup butter or margarine (1/2 stick)
1 cup (4 ounces) shredded cheddar cheese
1/8 teaspoon salt, or to taste
1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper, or to taste

  • Place potatoes in large saucepan. Coverwith water; bring to a boil. Cook over medium-high heat for 15to 20 minutes or until tender; drain.
  • Return potatoes to saucepan; add evaporatedmilk and butter. Beat with hand-held mixer until smooth. Stirin cheese. Season with salt and pepper.

    Makes 6 servings.

    Note: Chopped green onions, chopped parsleyor cooked, crumbled bacon may be added to mashed potatoes.
