Creamy Cabbage Slaw recipe

Nice and easy! This side salad accompaniesany grilled meal.

Recipe: Creamy Cabbage Slaw

1 (3-pound) head of green cabbage, coredand shredded
4 carrots, pared and shredded
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup sour cream
3 tablespoons lemon juice
2 teaspoons dry mustard
1 teaspoon celery seed
Salt and black pepper, to taste

  • In large mixing bowl toss together cabbageand carrots.
  • In small bowl, stir together remainingingredients; stir to blend well. Taste for seasoning and adjust.Pour dressing over slaw mixture; toss well. Cover and refrigeratefor several hours or overnight, stirring occasionally.

    Serves 8.

    I have tried your fabulous baked beans and potato salad. Great cole slaw was the last element needed for a perfect BBQ. I have tried a zillion cole slaw recipes over the years, so I am anxious to try this recipe. But my husband? He s a coleslaw connoisseur. It s usually the first thing he goes for. But that doesn t mean the bites he gets are always good and that puts our home s king of slaw down in the dumps.
