Cream Cheese Pound Cake recipe

Cream cheese adds moistness, texture anda hint of tang to pound cake.

Recipe: Cream Cheese PoundCake

3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
6 large eggs
1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened
3/4 cup butter, softened
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a bowl combine flour, baking powder,sugar, eggs, softened cream cheese, butter, salt, and vanilla.Mix well; beating with an electric mixer at low speed for 4 minutes.
  • Pour into a greased tube or Bundt cakepan and bake for 55 to 60 minutes, or until the center is firm.

    Makes 16 servings.
