Cow Patties recipe

I won’t go into explaining why these tastytreats are named ‘cow patties’, you’ll figure it out — sufficeit to say they’re easy and yummy…and that’s the the dairy-endof it!

Recipe: Cow Patties

2 cups (12-ounces) milk chocolate chips1 tablespoon vegetable shortening1/2 cup raisins1/2 cup toasted slivered almonds, chopped1/2 cup toasted shredded coconut

  • In a double boiler over simmering water,melt the chocolate chips and shortening,stirring until smooth. Remove from heart.Stir in raisins, almonds and coconut, mixing well.
  • Drop by tablespoonfuls onto a foil, waxedpaper or plastic wrap lined bakingsheet. Chill until ready to serve.

    Makes about 2 dozen.

    Our favorite babysitter used to make these for us back in the 60 s. We loved them because they were delicious, but we also loved that we were eating Cow Patties! how long will these last in the fridge? im having a farm party for my sons bday and looking at making as much as i can in the days leading up to it thanks
