1 cup unsalted butter, cut into smallpieces 5 ounces unsweetened chocolate, coarsely chopped 1 3/4 cups granulated sugar 3 large eggs 1 tablespoon vanilla extract 1/4 teaspoon salt 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).Spray a 9-inch square baking pan with vegetable cooking spray.
Place butter and chocolate in a microwave-safebowl or in the top of a double boiler. Microwave until just melted,stirring after 20-second intervals. If using a double boiler,stir constantly until mixture is melted and smooth.
With a wooden spoon, vigorously beat sugarinto melted chocolate until well blended and smooth. Beat ineggs, one at time. Stir in vanilla and salt. Add flour and stiruntil thoroughly mixed; batter will be thick.
Spread in prepared pan and bake for 35to 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted 2-inches from edgescomes out clean. Cool on wire rack.
Makes 16 bars.
