Chocolate, Peanut Butter & Jelly Swirl Brownies.

These brownies are rich and wonderful treatsthat are perfect for a dessert or a snack. This 1st Prize winningrecipe was created in the kitchen of Jim Bradley of Chicago,IL.

Recipe: Chocolate, PeanutButter & Jelly Swirl Brownies

1/2 cup NESTL ® TOLL HOUSE®Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels1/4 cup butter1 cup packed light brown sugar1/2 cup creamy or chunky peanut butter2 large eggs1 teaspoon vanilla extract1/2 cup all-purpose flour1/2 cup NESTL ® TOLL HOUSE®Premier White Morsels1/2 cup NESTL ® TOLL HOUSE®Peanut Butter & Milk Chocolate Morsels1/3 cup strawberry jam

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).Grease 9-inch-square baking pan.
  • Place semi-sweet morsels and butter inlarge, microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on HIGH (100%) power for1 minute; STIR. The morsels may retain some of their originalshape. If necessary, microwave at additional 10- to 15-secondintervals, stirring just until mixture is melted. Add brown sugarand peanut butter to chocolate mixture; beat on medium speedfor 1 minute or until well mixed. Beat in eggs and vanilla extract.Gradually stir in flour. Stir in white and peanut butter &milk chocolate morsels. Spread into prepared pan. Drop jam byspoonfuls onto batter. Swirl with a knife.
  • Bake for 35 to 40 minutes or until woodenpick inserted in center comes out still slightly sticky. Coolcompletely in pan on wire rack. Cut into bars.

    Makes 16 brownies.

    I cut down on the peanut butter topping to make room for the jelly. You simply pick your favorite jelly or jam and stir it up to smooth it out. Then you swirl it on top of the brownie batter like you do with the peanut butter. Just try and keep it away from the edges of the pan or it ll bubble up. Nana didn t understand how one could eat just peanut butter. Wouldn t it get stuck in your throat? Wouldn t the bread be dry? Her solution to this problem? Peanut butter and butter sandwiches.
