Chocolate Granola Bars.

The perfect treat for lunch boxes or afterschool snacks, these high-energy granola bars are chock fullof rice cereal, oatmeal, sunflower seeds, chocolate chips andpeanut butter. From the kitchen of Margot LaFontaine of FortCollins, CO.

Recipe: Chocolate GranolaBars

2 cups (12 ounce package) NESTL ®TOLL HOUSE® Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels1 1/2 cups puffed rice cereal1 1/2 cups quick oats1/2 cup flaked coconut1/3 cup shelled sunflower seeds1/2 cup honey1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter1/3 cup peanut butter

  • Grease 13 x 9-inch baking pan.
  • Combine morsels, cereal, oats, coconutand sunflower seeds in large bowl.
  • Heat honey and butter in small, uncoveredsaucepan until mixture just comes to a boil; reduce heat. Boilgently for 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat.Stir in peanut butter until melted and well combined.
  • Pour peanut butter mixture over chocolatemixture in bowl. Stir well to combine (morsels will melt). Carefullypress mixture firmly into prepared baking pan with a spatulaor the back of a spoon. Cover; refrigerate until firm. When firm,cut into bars. Store in a covered container in refrigerator forup to 1 week.

    Makes 32 bars.

    I made these granola bars recently and substituted pistachios for the other nuts. They were so delicious! I shared them on my blog today. Thanks for another great recipe! Yes!!!!!!!! Delicious made some today perfect for after HITT class I need to keep in the freezer or will the fridge do?
