Chocolate Chip-Pecan Pie recipe

The kids in your house just may changetheir minds about pecan pie when they find out this one has chocolatechips! Try it as a fun alternative from your typical holidayselection.

Recipe: Chocolate Chip-PecanPie

1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1 (9-inch) unbaked pie crust
3/4 cup dark corn syrup
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1/4 cup butter, melted
1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup pecan halves

  • Sprinkle chocolate chips on bottom ofunbaked pie shell. Freeze for at least 1 hour.
  • After shell has been frozen, preheat ovento 375°F (190°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine corn syrup,sugar, eggs, butter and salt. Beat until well blended using anelectric mixer on medium speed. Stir in pecans and pour mixtureover chocolate chips.
  • Bake 50 minutes or until center is set.Cool on a wire rack.
