Chocolate Chip Holiday Tea Cakes.

For all the chocolate fans out there. Thisvariation of the beloved holiday cookie incorporates chocolatechips inside as well as melted chocolate drizzled on top.

Recipe: Chocolate Chip HolidayTea Cakes

1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened1/2 cup sifted powdered sugar1 teaspoon vanilla extract2 cups all-purpose flour2/3 cup finely chopped nuts2 cups (12 ounce package) NESTL ®TOLL HOUSE® Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels – divided use

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Beat butter and powdered sugar in largemixer bowl until creamy. Beat in vanilla extract. Gradually beatin flour and nuts. Stir in 1 1/2 cups morsels. Roll dough into1-inch balls; place on ungreased baking sheets.
  • Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until setand light golden brown on bottom. Cool for 2 minutes on bakingsheets; remove to wire racks to cool completely.
  • Microwave remaining morsels in heavy-dutyplastic bag on HIGH (100%) power for 30 to 45 seconds; knead.Microwave at additional 10 to 20-second intervals, kneading untilsmooth. Cut tiny corner from bag; squeeze to drizzle over cookies.Refrigerate cookies for about 5 minutes or until chocolate isset. Store at room temperature in airtight containers.

    Makes 54 cookies (4 1/2 dozen).

    Tip: For a spicier cookie, add 2 to 2 1/2teaspoons ground cinnamon to flour before adding to butter-sugarmixture.
