Cherry S’More Brownies recipe

Recipe: Cherry S’More Brownies

1 (10-ounce) jar maraschino cherries
1 (19.5-ounce) package fudge brownie mix
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1/4 cup water
2 large eggs
1/4 cup butter, melted
8 whole graham crackers
1/2 cup milk chocolate chips
1/2 cup chopped pecans
1 cup miniature marshmallows

  • Drain maraschino cherries on paper towels;cut in half. Set aside.
  • Prepare brownie mix according to packagedirections, using oil, water and eggs. Spread melted butter ina 13x9x2-inch pan. Cover bottom of pan with a layer of grahamcrackers. (If necessary, cut crackers with serrated knife tomake them fit pan.) Spread brownie batter over crackers.
  • Bake in a preheated 350°F (175°C)oven 5 minutes less than directed on the package. Sprinkle chocolatechips, pecans, cherries and marshmallows over the top. Returnto oven; bake an additional 5 to 8 minutes, or until toothpickinserted in center comes out almost clean. Let cool. Cut intosquares.Makes 24 brownies.

Had a huge batch of cherries leftover and scoured the internet for a recipe for cherry chocolate brownies. This came out great made exactly like instructions dictated. But sprinkled some white chocolate chips on top too! Thanks Rachel! Baking brownies on 450F seems like an unusually high temperature. Shouldn t the oven temperature be reduced to somewhere around 350F after the cherries come out?
