Recipe: Cheese and SausageBreakfast Casserole

8 slices white bread, cut into 1-inchcubes1 pound bulk pork sausage, cooked andcrumbled1 1/2 cups grated cheddar cheese10 large eggs2 cups whole milk2 teaspoons dry mustard1 teaspoon saltFreshly ground black pepper to taste

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Butter a 9 x 13 x 2-inch glass bakingdish. Place bread in prepared dish.Top with cooked sausage and cheese.
  • Beat together eggs with remainingingredients. Pour over sausage mixture.
  • Bake casserole until puffed and centeris set, about 50 minutes. Cut intosquares and serve hot.

    Makes 8 to 10 servings.
