Cheddar Pinwheels recipe

A quick and easy quick bread, biscuit pinwheelsfilled with cheddar cheese.

Recipe: Cheddar Pinwheels

2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 cup butter
2/3 cup milk
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

  • In a mixing bowl sift together flour,salt, and baking powder. Cut in butter. Add milk and beat togetherquickly but thoroughly to form dough.
  • Turn out on a floured board and kneadfor 30 seconds then roll out to a 10 x 8-inch rectangle 1/8-inchthickness. Sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese and roll uptightly jelly roll fashion. Cut into 3/4-inch slices and placeon baking sheets.
  • Bake in a 375°F (190°C) oven for20 minutes, or until browned.

    Makes 12 pinwheels.

    These pinwheels look very tasty! I guess it is a great thing to cook when your guests are about to come! It is so simple and unique. I wonder what kind of products can be substituted. For example, is it possible to use fish instead of meat? It this recipe supposed to have any ranch dressing in it? You mentioned the combination of cheddar, bacon and ranch makes me think ranch dressing is in it ? Thanks, Janet
