Carob Candy Balls recipe

Good as an after-school snack with a glassof cold milk, Carob Candy Balls offer the crunch and flavor ofsesame, creaminess of peanut butter, texture and sweetness ofhoney, and nutty chewiness of wheat germ all enclosed in well-lovedgraham cracker crumbs.

Recipe: Carob Candy Balls

1 cup graham cracker crumbs
1/2 cup carob powder
1/2 cup honey
1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
1/2 cup sesame seeds
1/4 cup wheat germ
1/4 cup powdered milk

  • Measure graham cracker crumbs onto a largeplate or sheet of waxed paper; set aside.
  • Blend carob powder, honey, peanut butter,sesame seed, wheat germ and powdered milk in a large bowl.
  • Form into 1 1/2-inch balls and roll ingraham cracker crumbs to coat. Place in an airtight containeror carefully cover with plastic wrap. Refrigerate for 1 hourto set.

    Makes 10 pieces.

    I can t wait to try carob in place of chocolate chips in many recipes, like pancakes and even some gluten-free low-fat cheesecake brownies I m planning on trying!
