Caramel Apple Dessert recipe

So easy and so good! Thick, tart greenapple slices cooked tender in butter and brown sugar and servedover vanilla ice cream.

Recipe: Caramel Apple Dessert

1/3 cup butter
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
6 tart green apples
Vanilla ice cream for accompaniment

  • Melt the butter in a nonstick pan andstir in the sugar until dissolved. Add vanilla, blending well.
  • Wash, peel and core the apples and cutinto quarters. Add apples to the sugar mixture and simmer uncoveredover medium heat for about 15 minutes, basting often.
  • Serve warm over vanilla ice cream.
