Cajun Coleslaw recipe

Spicy coleslaw with the Cajun flavor-trinity,onion, bell pepper and celery, with a fair dose of Tabasco sauce.

Recipe: Cajun Coleslaw

1 medium cabbage, shredded
2 medium white onions, thinly sliced
1 teaspoon Tabasco sauce
1/4 cup diced red bell pepper1/4 cup thinly sliced celery
1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
1 cup mayonnaise
2 teaspoons celery seed
2 tablespoons white vinegar
1 tablespoon sugar
Salt and pepper to taste

  • Place cabbage and onions in a large bowl;add Tabasco sauce and toss. Let sit about 20 to 30 minutes. Addthe bell pepper, celery and parsley.
  • In a small bowl, combine remaining ingredients;mix well and pour over the cabbage mixture. Toss to coat well;cover and chill for 1 hour before serving.

    Makes 6 to 8 servings.
