Cabbage Casserole recipe

A mixture of ground beef, onion and celeryis layered with sliced apple and cabbage in this casserole.

Recipe: Cabbage Casserole

1 onion, chopped
1 celery rib, chopped
3 tablespoons butter
3/4 pound ground beef
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cabbage, chopped
2 apples, cored and sliced

  • In a skillet, saute chopped onion andchopped celery rib in butter for 2 minutes. Add ground beef andsalt; cook, stirring, for another 2 minutes.
  • Spread half of chopped cabbage in a 2-quartbaking dish and cover with half of sliced apples and the meatmixture. Add the remaining cabbage and apple slices.
  • Cover and bake at 350°F (175°C)for 1 hour.

    Makes 6 servings.
