Butterscotch Fudge recipe

Creamy, orange-scented, marshmallow butterscotchwalnut fudge.

Recipe: Butterscotch Fudge

1 cup chopped walnuts
1 (7-ounce) jar marshmallow creme
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
2/3 cup evaporated milk
1/4 cup butter
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 (11-ounce) package butterscotch flavored chips
1 teaspoon orange extract
1 teaspoon grated orange peel

  • Spread 1/2 of the chopped walnuts evenlyon the bottom of wax paper lined 13 x 9-inch pan.
  • In a heavy saucepan, combine marshmallowcreme with sugar, evaporated milk, butter and salt. Bring toa full rolling boil over moderate heat, stirring constantly.Boil for 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from the heat.
  • Add butterscotch chips the cooked mixtureand stir until the chips are melted. Stir in orange extract andgrated orange peel. Pour into the prepared pan and sprinkle withremaining chopped walnuts. Chill until firm.

    Makes 32 pieces.
