Bourbon Balls recipe

These little cookie confections were afavorite back in the 1960’s and are a traditionally served duringthe Christmas season.

Recipe: Bourbon Balls

2 cups vanilla wafer crumbs (or substitutegraham crackers)
1 cup powdered sugar, sifted
2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
1 cup finely chopped walnuts or pecans
1 1/2 tablespoons light corn syrup or honey
1/4 cup bourbon or rum
Additional powdered sugar, sifted, for dusting

Mix the dry ingredients together untilwell blended. Stir in liquids, blending with your hands, untilthe mixture is of moldable consistency and not too wet.

Form the mixture into balls about 3/4-inchin diameter. Roll the balls in powdered sugar. These may be eatenright away, but are much better if stored in a tightly coveredtin and aged at least 2 days.

Makes about 40 cookie balls.
