Bourbon Balls recipe

These little cookie confections were afavorite back in the 1960’s and are a traditionally served duringthe Christmas season.

Recipe: Bourbon Balls

2 cups vanilla wafer crumbs (or substitutegraham crackers)
1 cup powdered sugar, sifted
2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
1 cup finely chopped walnuts or pecans
1 1/2 tablespoons light corn syrup or honey
1/4 cup bourbon or rum
Additional powdered sugar, sifted, for dusting

  • Mix the dry ingredients together untilwell blended. Stir in liquids, blending with your hands, untilthe mixture is of moldable consistency and not too wet.
  • Form the mixture into balls about 3/4-inchin diameter. Roll the balls in powdered sugar. These may be eatenright away, but are much better if stored in a tightly coveredtin and aged at least 2 days.

    Makes about 40 cookie balls.
