Bonbon Cookies recipe

Maraschino cherries individually wrappedin a sugary cookie coating.

Recipe: Bonbon Cookies

3/4 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup butter, softened
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 cup maraschino cherries, drained

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Beat sugar, butter and vanilla until lightand fluffy in a large bowl.
  • Stir in flour and salt; mix well.
  • Wrap about 1 tablespoon of dough arounda maraschino cherry.
  • Place on ungreased cookie sheet; bakefor 12 to 15 minutes.
  • Transfer cookies to a wire rack; let cool.

    Makes about 36 cookies.
