Honey and nothing more is all it takesto make old-fashioned pulled honey taffy.
Recipe: Basic Honey Taffy
1 cup honey
In saucepan, cook honey, stirring constantly,to soft crack stage 285°F (140°C) or until mixture separatesinto hard but not brittle threads.
Pour mixture onto a buttered marble slabor similar surface. As soon as outside edges cool enough to touch,fold to center and make long roll. Start stretching or pullingwhile hot. Pull until honey becomes light and porous and smallstrings develop.
Cut into short pieces and wrap individuallyin waxed paper or plastic wrap. Store in sealed container forat least 2 days to soften.
Makes 8 ounces of candy.
